 Setting Up an Allowance
WHY?
The goal of an allowance is to provide an educational experience for the giver and the taker. The goal is NOT to provide an indentured servant for the household.
Stay away from tying chores to the receipt of allowance unless you really think you must. Children should do their chores because they are sharing the family responsibilities. By the same token, an allowance is the sharing of family resources. |
