Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology
Dr. Shaji Khan is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology in the College of Business, University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). He has published in journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Strategic Outsourcing an International Journal, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, and Journal of Small Business Management. He has also presented papers at national academic conferences, authored book chapters, and produced practitioner oriented research and industry reports.
His research interests include offshoring of business services, innovation and entrepreneurship, and management of Information Technology and Information Security in high-reliability environments. He is currently developing cybersecurity programs at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and teaches in the areas of data networking and information security.

I helped create a strong set of cybersecurity related programs at the University of Missouri-St. Louis based on a truly multidisiplinary and interdisciplinary curriculum
Now, UMSL is designated as a NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education
I also created a state-of-the-art Cybersecurity and Information Technology Innovation Laboratory (CITIL). The lab will provide a sand-boxed environment for cybersecurity related student exercises as well as a private cloud. The private cloud will use Open Stack and provide students and faculty with a self-service interface to create their own test labs, small analytics clusters, or development platforms.
