Seminar Programs

Seminars for the spring semester 2025 will mostly be conducted virtually , and a few in person. Our seminars are open to the public.  For the zoom link, e-mail or call Professor Holmes whose contact information is available on the department website.


Visiting Speaker Seminar Program

(Spring 2025). Seminars are normally held on Mondays at 4:00 - 4:50 pm in Room 103 Benton Hall.  Seminars are attended by faculty, postdocs, graduate students from all divisions and visitors, as well as undergraduate chemistry majors typically in their final semester.

Graduate Student Seminar Program

(Spring 2024) Seminars are normally held Fridays at 1:00 pm in Room 428 Benton Hall.  

Robert W. Murray Lecture

On Monday October 7, 2024,  the 25th Annual Robert W. Murray Lecture Lecture was presented by Dr. Carlos Bustamante, Professor of Chemistry, Physics and Molecular and Cell Biology and The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Professor in Biophysics at the University of California-Berkeley. He spoke on: "Division of Labor and Mechanism of Translocation in viral ring ATpase" at 4:00 pm in Benton Hall Room 103.

The Distinguished Alumni Lecture

The Distinguished Alumni Lecture for 2023-24 was presented by Profesor Robert A. Stockland, Jr, PhD 1990, following the Department Awards Ceremony on April 29. More information about him and the Lecture may be found here.
