At the heart of our program is the ethos of collaboration. We practice this value through partnerships with many of the wonderful museums, historic sites, cultural organizations and community groups. St. Louis is a city rich in cultural resources, diverse histories, and communities who are passionate about their heritage. Our partner organizations also host our Graduate Research Assistants, positions which are a key part of our funding package. Through this initiative our students gain two years of applied experience in the field, providing them with a distinct advantage as they enter the job market.
Many institutions in the St Louis area collaborate with us to train the next generation of museum professionals. Some of the museums and heritage sites that have hosted our graduate students include:
The St Louis Mercantile Library
The State Historical Society of Missouri, St. Louis
The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site
The Archives and Museum of Optometry
The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site
