The University of Missouri-St. Louis has been designated drug free and only under certain conditions is the consumption of alcohol permitted. In keeping with its educational mission, the University assumes the responsibility to better inform the campus community about alcohol and substance abuse.
The sale, manufacture, distribution or possession of any controlled substance is illegal under both state and federal laws. The University of Missouri-St. Louis Police Department strictly enforces such laws. Violators are subject to University disciplinary action, criminal prosecution, fine and/or imprisonment.
The University of Missouri-St. Louis Alcohol Policy and Missouri State statute restricts the sale, consumption and distribution of alcohol on the University campus. It is unlawful to sell or furnish alcohol to a person under the age of twenty-one. The possession of alcohol by anyone under twenty-one years of age in a public place or a place open to the public is illegal. It is also a violation of University policy for anyone to consume or possess alcohol in any public or private area of campus without prior approval by the University.
Organizations or groups violating alcohol/substance policies or laws may be subject to sanctions by the University.
