The Millennium Student Center strengthens the community and provides students the opportunity to learn, engage, and grow.
The MSC has been at the heart of the vibrant campus life at UMSL since its first days in 2000. The student center is a bustling home for student engagement that houses more than 120 student organizations, including student government, the university program board, a student run radio station, and the student newspaper. Home to the main food venues on campus, the student center boasts an Einstein Bros. Bagel, Pizza Hut, WOW Wingery, Subway and more! The student center provides a home to a variety of student service offices, making it convenient for current and prospective students to access resources efficiently under one roof. As an inclusive space, the student center allows students, faculty, and staff to gather throughout the day. The student center strives to encourage social engagement, cultural enrichment, and educational wellness.
It was the class of 2000 that first stepped foot into the Millennium Student Center, a 165,000 square foot student-focused space, early in the fall semester. The edifice comprises an expansive three-story rotunda, a sunlit third-floor gallery with a panoramic campus view through clerestory windows, numerous professional meeting spaces, tailored seating and dining areas, quiet study rooms, and the key thoroughfare connecting students to the academic quadrangle. Prompted by unmet student desires, the building was imagined and designed with the needs of the students at its heart. As it was the students and their needs that ultimately birthed the MSC into existence, it is through their continued use and support of the space that makes it a home for all of campus and the community.
