Network - Attend the Department’s Fall Picnic and meet alums, get to know classmates (they are also your future job connections), and join LinkedIn
Make use of campus resources to jump-start your career. Visit UMSL’s Career Services for help with your resume, job and internship opportunities, and mock interviews. It is best not to wait until the semester in which you are graduating
Keep in mind that your professors are your future recommenders for jobs and graduate school, so get to know them. Be professional in all communications (e.g. write in full sentences and proofread your emails) Demonstrate good work habits important to employers (e.g. be prompt, meet deadlines).
