AS A PRODUCT MANAGER....PREPARE YOUR MARKETING PLAN

BUT........... UNDERSTAND THE STRATEGIC PIX FIRST!!!!!
LW Chapter one
The marketing plan provides a central focus for a firm’s marketing activities. While product managers have responsibility for many tasks, such as arranging trade shows, checking print advertising copy, and managing distribution channel members, day-to-day tasks should have the marketing strategy as a guiding theme. This theme emanates from a careful analysis of the market, giving a marketing manager ideas on how to differentiate his or her product from the others from which customers can choose. The tasks (marketing tactics), guiding theme (marketing strategy), and analysis (situation or background analysis) are what marketing plans and planning are about.
