The Veterans Center student lounge is YOUR place on campus - a designated space where student veterans will find a welcoming place to enjoy camaraderie and friendship, a place to study or do homework, a place to reset and relax between classes, and a place to engage with the Center’s professional and student staff.
The 1,100 sq. ft. student lounge has a never-empty coffee pot, comfortable chairs and tables, a large screen TV, computers, and a printer. You can even stash your lunch or dinner in the fridge! This lounge is meant to have it all for our military-connected students. It serves as both a place to relax and an academic space where student veterans can help each other. So, whether you want a place to hang out, a second opinion on your hastily-written last-minute paper, or some caffeine to survive the next class then the Veteran Center is the place to be!
The Veterans Center student lounge is staffed by a team of student workers that are student veterans like you! They are there to provide peer-to-peer support, guidance, and are a great resource for questions about campus and the college transition. Being students themselves, they know what you’re going through and have chosen to lead from the front. Come talk to them and see how they can help! They have been in your shoes as a new student at UMSL and are eager to be a resource and a champion to you as you begin your path at UMSL.
