Prior to having children, I did not try very hard in school and had to repeat many classes. I unexpectedly became pregnant in 2019 which became a jump start for my education. My child was my newfound motivation for getting through school and obtaining a degree so I could provide her with a better life. Instead of wondering if I could successfully pass a class, I told myself I could and I did.
I applied for graduate school, never believing I would actually be admitted let alone, given an interview. I was shocked to be admitted to every school I had applied to including some of the top programs in the country. I raised my GPA from a 1.9 to a 3.7, found that I actually enjoy school, and will be graduating this may with two degrees, 4 minors, and 2 certificates.
I hope this motivates any other students who are in similar situations to take any obstacles and instead of allowing them to stop you, use them instead to help you reach your goal!
