Kara Labedz, MSW, LMSW, is a Licensed Masters Social Worker providing group and individual therapy to children and adolescents at Children’s Advocacy Services. Ms. Labedz received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Ms. Labedz has previous experience working with children with severe emotional disturbances and closely collaborating with caregivers. In her position at CASGSL, Ms. Labedz sees individual clients who have been exposed to various types of trauma, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, and traumatic grief. Ms. Labedz also currently directs CASGSL’s Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) in St. Louis City schools. CBITS is a group and individual intervention designed to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and behavioral problems to improve classroom performance. Ms. Labedz is passionate about supporting children and adolescents using empirically supported practices.
