Dr. Steffen's research, teachingandclinical interests are in clinical geropsychology and behavioral medicine. Her research lab aims to advance our understanding of best practices for training behavioral health clinicians to work with older adults. She teaches undergraduate courses in gerontology (e.g., Mental Health & Aging) and doctoral courses in clinical psychology (e.g., Seminar in Clinical Science, Foundations of Clinical Interventions, Clinical Supervision). Dr. Steffen is dual board certified in Geropsychology, and in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She provides clinical supervision and has a psychotherapy and family consultation practice at the Community Psychological Service. Dr. Steffen is the author of Treating Later-Life Depression: A Cognitive Behavioral Approachworkbookandclinician guideby Oxford University Press.
