Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Missouri-St Louis has shown its commitment for many years to area youth through the Bridge Program. To further aid students in their pursuit of a college degree, UMSL offers a number of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students with preference given to Bridge Program alumni. While Bridge scholarships are available only to students attending UMSL, the Bridge Program also provides assistance with college and scholarship applications to all Bridge participants.

UMSL Scholarships for Bridge Alumni

The AT&T Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund for Math, Engineering, Technology and Science is awarded to first-time freshman students who participated in the Bridge Program pursuing majors in mathematics and science.

The Bridge Program Alumni Fellowship is awarded each year to an outstanding UMSL graduate student who participated in the Bridge Program studying math, computer science, biology, chemistry and physics.

The Graduate School Bridge Fellowship is awarded each year to an outstanding UMSL graduate student who participated in the UMSL Bridge Program while in high school in University City, Normandy, Wellston, or St. Louis City. Recipients must be graduate students studying mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, physics or engineering at UMSL with preference is given to doctoral students. If no Bridge alumni apply or qualify during the year, the Fellowship may be awarded to a student who graduated from a high school with similar demographics and who participated in another pre-collegiate program that emphasized mathematics and the sciences or in a graduate or research preparation program in college, such as the McNair Scholars Program. Deadline for Submission: April 1 for Fall Term; November 1 for Winter Term. Applicants must first submit their nomination form to their Graduate Program Director for review and approval. The Graduate Program Director will forward the student's nomination to the Graduate Dean.

The Margaret Bush-Wilson Scholarship is offered to students who participated in the Bridge Program, with preference given to students pursuing majors in mathematics and science.

The Margaret Bush-Wilson Endowed Scholarship is offered to students who participated in the Bridge Program.

The Monsanto Minority Math and Science Scholarship Fund is awarded to top-ranking students that participated in the Bridge Program pursuing majors in mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, engineering or physics.

The Monsanto/Marguerite Ross Barnett Scholarship is awarded to a student with academic promise, who has been admitted to UMSL, and is pursuing a graduate degree.
