Stephen Bagwell is an assistant professor in political science, whose teaching and research focus on the intersection of international relations, political economy, and human rights. He has taught courses on world politics, international political economy, human rights, and applied statistics. He describes his research as investigating the economic causes and consequences of governments behaving badly. Stephen's research has appeared in The Journal of Human Rights and The Journal of Global Security Studies. He is also part of a global research collective measuring the state of respect for human rights around the world: The Human Rights Measurement Initiative.
