The College of Nursing has two student nursing organizations, both of which are open to ALL interested students. We also host the Nu Chi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International; membership is invitational.
The Student Nurses Association is an organization open to any nursing or pre-nursing student. The mission of the SNA is to contribute to the nursing student's education, help students develop leadership skills, help promote the responsibilities of health care professionals, and to educate the community about proper health care issues. It is also a great way to meet new people who are sharing similar experiences.
SNA is a great way to get involved on campus, give back to the community, earn leadership opportunities, and participate in fun activities. SNA has meetings once a month to discuss upcoming events and projects, discuss any student government meetings that took place, and prepare an agenda for the upcoming month.
Contact the SNA at 516-5074 or sna@umsl.edu, or reach out to the faculty advisor, Dr. Deb D’Arcy DNP, RN, PHCNS-BC.
"Extraordinary students today – accomplished nurses tomorrow!"
The Minority Student Nurses Association (MSNA) of the University of Missouri-St.Louis is dedicated to serving the campus and St. Louis community. We strive to be an academic and interpersonal motivation for all of our members. We provide mentoring, create study groups, actively participate in health fairs and screening, conduct NCLEX-Review programs, and facilitate numerous health promotion and illness prevention programs. Collaborating with other programs and assisting in their endeavors allows us to gain more experience and reach larger populations. We encourage students to explore the world of healthcare and to share their education with others.

Nu Chi is the University of Missouri- St. Louis chapter, representing Sigma Theta Tau International. Our Greek letter’s signify love, courage, and honor. Sigma’s mission is to advance world health and celebrate nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Together we collaborate to improve outcomes and mentor leaders.
Sigma Theta Tau is the only nursing honor society. The society only extends membership to students in baccalaureate or graduate level programs who have demonstrated superior academic achievement, academic integrity, and professional leadership potential or to nurse leader candidates exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing.
