I completed my BSN in 2013 after a very fulfilling career as a professional ballerina. Shortly following my graduation, I noted a yearning within myself to know more and understand the intricate details of the body as well as various disease processes. This prompted my return to graduate school. I completed DNPs at MIZZOU in the areas of Pediatric Critical Care (ACCNS-P) and Pediatric Primary Care (CPNP-PC) in 2019. While in graduate school, I was employed as a transport (flight) nurse and PICU nurse with two of our local pediatric hospitals. I subsequently completed a post-graduate certification in Pediatric Acute Care (CPNP-AC) due to that ongoing desire to have a greater understanding of Pediatric Critical Care. I am obsessed with nursing and helping others realize the power that comes with understanding nursing science.
Outside of work, I am a mother to 5 kiddos, a madly in-love wife to my amazing husband, and an avid runner. My running partner is my devoted Great Dane, Ruth! I love learning new things and being stretched out of my comfort zone.

Research Interests
For my dissertation projects, I investigated areas focused on the Pulmonary system. My first project examined the return to Emergency Department rates for children with asthma exacerbations, once paired with an Asthma Care Specialist. My second examined success rates for patients with Cystic Fibrosis who were transitioning to Adult Care Providers, following completion of the Transitional Care Intervention I implemented.
In addition to my research, I have served in a women’s health rehabilitation project in Uganda, aiding women who have escaped forced prostitution. Our clinic addressed partner violence and sexually transmitted diseases.
Finally, my most rewarding endeavor is working with the Lakota tribe of the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. During my service time with these people, I learned the overwhelming power of the enduring human spirit. The Lakota tribe is a composition of passion, kindness, strength, and perseverance.
