The NPML program is a leader in nonprofit education and is the only graduate program in nonprofit education in the St. Louis region with full membership in the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC).
Students enrolled in the NPML program learn how to help nonprofits advance their missions by gaining knowledge and competencies specific to managing, leading, and governing nonprofit and voluntary organizations. This important new scholarship will help to attract and retain these students.
After more than 30 years as a pioneer of nonprofit education and promoting nonprofit excellence in a variety of roles, John McClusky retired in 2009 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis as director of the the Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program he founded.
Having educated hundreds of nonprofit executives, staff, board members and volunteers in the St. Louis region, throughout the country and internationally, an endowed scholarship in his name seems a fitting tribute.
Your gift will help a student continue John McClusky's legacy of equipping nonprofit leaders of today and tomorrow with the most up-to-date skills in managing and leading this vital sector.
Here's what leaders in the St. Louis nonprofit community say about John McClusky and the Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program:
"John McClusky directly influenced my decision to return to a classroom setting 25 years after receiving my MSW. His class on nonprofit management and the entire NMLP program validated my social work knowledge and professional experience while allowing me to refocus and deepen my skills for a changing work environment."

"Dr. McClusky is without a doubt one of the greatest assets we have in our nonprofit community. Not only did he bring the only NACC-recognized university nonprofit program to the area, he has mentored countless organizations and individuals. For me personally, Dr. McClusky was a great teacher and someone I could always go to for advice and assistance. The nonprofit community here is much stronger because of his influence."
Jim Judge Judge Evaluation Services, LLC NPML ‘05
"No one was more important at the start of my career than John McClusky. He mentored me, reassured me and helped me believe that I could be successful in this field. I am forever indebted to him."

"John is a true visionary in our community. He saw both the needs and possibilities of what the Nonprofit Management and Leadership Program could do to advance the field of nonprofit and philanthropic practice in our region.
