The University Pep Band, known as The Triton Sound, was organized in 1998. Performances occur at all home basketball games, post season tournaments and other events on and off campus. The Triton Sound is often hailed as the best band in the GLVC conference. In addition to being a conference favorite, the band has performed for Former Vice President Al Gore and at the NCAA Basketball's "Final-Four" Championship Tournament in 2000.
