Aurelia Hartenberger, Ed.D. is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Maryville University.She has served as Curriculum Director of the Mehlville School District and Music Coordinator for Lindbergh School District. She has also served as Southwest Division President of NAfME: The National Association for Music Education, 2003-2005; President of MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association), 2000-2002; and President of SLSMEA (St. Louis Suburban Music Educators Assoc.), 1992-1998. In the field of education, Dr. Hartenberger has been named five times as “Teacher of the Year” at the local, district, and state levels.
In the field of research, Dr. Hartenberger’s research work has been published in the Symposium Proceedings of the 2007 Symposium on Assessment in Music Education – GIA Publications, and she is cited in The Music and Literacy Connection, 2003. Dr. Hartenberger has also been published in many educational journals and is presently published by McDonald Publishing Company.She has presented clinics and workshops in ten states on Neuroscience Research and Learning.
Dr. Hartenberger is the USA patented inventor of the web-based "Curriculum SUCCESS Tool" and is a contributing author to The New Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments. She has also served on the governing board of the national American Musical Instrument Society and presently serves as Music Curator for The Sheldon Art Galleries.
