ABSTRACT: This manuscript is an excerpt from an account of a journey on the Missouri River of the Steamer A. B. Chambers. The source and author of the excerpt is unknown. The author describes a night aboard the A. B. Chambers, including descriptions of the passengers, crew, cargo and an incident of gambling.
