ABSTRACT: Scrapbook of ephemera for the Missouri Press Association.

SCOPE: This scrapbook was created within a copy of J.W. Barrett’s History and Transactions of the Editors’ and Publishers’ Association of Missouri. It contains clippings, correspondence, and memorabilia in addition to handwritten notes that complement the published text. Based on some of the included materials, the scrapbook may have belonged to H.E. Robinson.

EXTENT: Approximately 140 pages.

HISTORY: The Missouri Press Association was founded in 1867 as the Editors’ and Publishers’ Association of Missouri. J.W. Barrett served as the organization’s first president from 1867 to 1869, and H.E. Robinson served as the 26th president in 1896. The Missouri Press Association continues to operate in conjunction with the Missouri Press Service and the Missouri Press Foundation.
