M-590 Women's Sewing Circle Ledger

ABSTRACT: Ledger for a Young Ladies Sewing Circle, circa 1888.

SCOPE: This ledger, written in a book with marbled paper covers, encompasses the activities of a Young Ladies Sewing Circle. Though several pages remain blank, some contain a list of members, a log of financial contributions, and details on materials purchased and contributed to the club. The back pages include a description of profits from a fair, dated November 16 and 17, 1888.

EXTENT: Approximately 80 pages.

ACCESS: This collection can be viewed on-site in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room.  Some of the material may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, subject to condition and other access restrictions.
