ABSTRACT: Docket book from Beadle County, South Dakota, circa 1907-1909.
SCOPE: This docket book records the history of court cases in Beadle County, South Dakota between 1907 and 1909. A significant number of entries focus on debt settlements, but they also cover cases of robbery, property damage, the use of obscene language, the sale of spoiled food, and the keeping of houses of ill repute. Most of the cases list Charles May as the presiding justice of the peace, and a fee schedule is pasted to the inside front cover.
