SCOPE: This collection includes 26 letters and two postcards written by George Lyttelton to Herbert van Thal, dated between 1946 and 1951. The correspondence focuses on Lyttelton’s analysis and reports on books for van Thal, though it also includes personal accounts of country life. These letters predate Lyttelton’s more well-known correspondence with the publisher Rupert Hart-Davis.
