HISTORY: Hellen Keller (Adams) was born June 27, 1880 and died June 1, 1968. She was an American author and education who was blind and deaf. Through the teaching of Anne Mansfield Sullivan (later Mrs. John A. Macy) Keller learned to speak and to read and write in Braille. Helen Keller devoted her life to publicily aiding the deaf and blind.
