B-19: Amtrak Corridor Development Studies Collection

History: This collection was donated by Amtrak in 2007.

Scope: Comprised primarily of Amtrak's internal files regarding the economic potential of developing high speed corridors between major cities across the United States, these files are concentrated around the late 1970s and early 1980s. They contain a wide variety of documents including cost/benefit analyses, lobbying-related material, correspondence and engineering surveys of the corridors. Less frequently they include newspaper articles, congressional testimony and Amtrak promotional publications. The files contain both original documents and photocopies of reports.
