If you are a first-time UMSL graduate student, you will have the opportunity at the end of the application to pay the application fee ($50 for U.S. applicants, $40 for international applicants) online on our secure server with a MasterCard, Visa, Discover card, or your checking or savings account (echeck). If you are not prepared to pay the fee now, you can complete the application and return later to log in with your email and password to pay the application fee.

You are also able to pay the application fee by credit card.

You can also pay by check payable to UMSL and mail to Admissions Office, 351 MSC, University of Missouri-St. Louis, One University Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63121. 


Applicants to the Graduate School are only required to pay the application fee once. If you have paid the fee for a previous graduate application, do NOT pay it again.

  • McNair Scholars - The University of Missouri-St. Louis welcomes McNair Scholars by waiving the application fee.  Please identify yourself as a McNair Scholar in the Statement of Purpose on the application and then request that your program director confirm your status in an email to Graduate Admissions. 
  • Veterans - We welcome veterans into the Graduate School at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Please be sure to identity your self as a veteran in the application.
