Kitty Nangle Lohrum is the Senior Director of Philanthropy for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Her first fundraising experience was in Peace Corps Paraguay, where she secured funds for large projects from UNICEF, the World Bank, and several smaller international organizations. Since then, Kitty has honed her fundraising and donor relations skills at the National Conference for Community and Justice, Teach For America, Saint Louis University, and as Vice President of Advancement at Fontbonne University, she grew fundraising from $1.4M to $8.1M in five years.
In her most recent role as Chief Advancement Officer for the National Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Kitty concurrently served as Chief Operating Officer for the Foundation while overseeing the merger of Development, Marketing & Communications, and Events functions. There, she built a new website and managed a brand refresh. She rewrote all Advancement communications, policies and procedures, and managed a database overhaul. In less than a year, her work secured 5,174 first-time donors, of which 2,564 were online, with a decrease in attrition of 8% over two years prior. Under her leadership, the Society’s #GivingTuesday revenue grew 255% with 388% more donors, raising >$50,000 to a $20,000 goal.
Kitty earned her undergraduate degree in biology, psychology, and kinesiology from Regis University and her master’s in leadership & organizational development from Saint Louis University. She is a passionate advocate for equity and has dedicated her life to improving the lives of others. She considers her work to be a blessing and a calling.
Kitty loves gardening and lives in Crestwood with her husband Brad, children Lillian, Hank, and Mac and dogs Freddy and Ginger.
