Welcome to the University of Missouri-St. Louis Passport Application Acceptance Facility, also known as UMSL Passport Services.

UMSL Global is a U.S. Department of State designated passport application acceptance facility. We accept passport applications for U.S. citizens of all ages. 

Who can apply?

Any United States citizen can apply for a passport through our office. No affiliation with the University of Missouri-St. Louis is required.

Please note that we do not generally process renewal applications. Please use the Department of State's online form finder to complete form DS-82. If you are not eligible to use form DS-82, please set an appointment to come see us.

Appointments

Appointments are required, and walk-ins will be asked to schedule an appointment. Our available appointment times are very limited. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment time, please cancel or reschedule using the link in your confirmation email. Applicants arriving more than ten minutes after their scheduled appointment time must reschedule.

 

The application process

  1. Review our passport appointment checklist to determine what you need to bring to your appointment.
  2. Print out and complete the passport application (Form DS-11) before your appointment.
  3. Bring your completed application, payments, and all other required documents to your appointment.
  4. Meet with one of our passport agents to review your documents. Your application and supporting documents will then be forwarded to the Department of State for processing.

Fees

Passport fees are listed on the Department of State website, and are the same throughout the country.

Application status and current processing times are available on the Department of State website. Please note that our staff cannot inquire about the status of your application on your behalf.

Passport scholarship information

If you are a student applying for a passport for the first time, Expanding Boundaries International offers a scholarship to cover the application fees. 

Please note that Expanding Boundaries is not affiliated with the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Please direct all inquiries about passport scholarships to Expanding Boundaries.

Replacing a lost birth certificate

Do you need a copy of your birth certificate? If you were born in Missouri, visit the St. Louis County website. If you were born in any other state, or if you need copies of any other vital records, visit usa.gov for more information.

Location

Our office is located in room 366 of the Social Sciences Building, within the UMSL Global offices.

Please park in the West Drive Garage and use the sidewalk next to the Thomas Jefferson Library to access the Social Sciences Building.
