Stephen BagwellPolitical Science
Dr. Stephen Bagwell is an assistant professor of political science at the University of Missouri–St Louis. His work focuses on the economic causes and consequences of political violence and human rights abuses. Bagwell is currently working on a geospatial project which disaggregates country-level indicators of human rights respect into sub-national metrics, allowing for greater inference and understanding of the well-being of individuals within a country.
Bagwell works alongside the Human Rights Measurement Initiative to provide governments, advocates, civil society organizations and corporations with the best available measures of human rights. He is published in The Journal of Global Security Studies and The Journal of Human Rights.
