Culture of Literacy

Our Culture of Literacy section recognizes organizations and celebrations that promote literacy. GWP promotes and supports these programs in order to foster the love of sharing a story. Many of these opportunities focus on publishing and buiding community. 

Publishing expands learning beyond the classroom walls. Through writing, we make our thinking visible, both to ourselves and to others. Writing is vital to creating, communicating, and participating in the world. Writing lets us manage complex projects and organize our work with others. It creates opportunities to reconsider our perspectives and relationships. Writing transforms us, unites us, demystifies the differences between us, and connects us to the world’s collective knowledge in new and exciting ways. GWP asks you to join us in promoting the power of publishing.
