The Counseling and Social Advocacy Center (CSAC) @ UMSL provides affordable play therapy, individual, group, couples, families, child and adolescent, career counseling services provided by professional counselors and graduate counseling students.
CSAC @ UMSL is operated through the Counseling Program in the College of Education. The Center provides training for school and clinical mental health counseling practicum students in the master’s and doctoral counselor training programs. The students are under the supervision of faculty members who hold licenses in mental health professions, including licensed professional counselors, licensed psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, and more.
We are part of the Department of Counseling and Family Therapy at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. We train school and clinical mental health counseling practicum students enrolled in the school’s master’s and doctoral programs. Faculty members who hold licenses in counseling, psychology and marriage and family therapy supervise our students.
Counselor experience ranges from doctoral students with an average of five years to advanced master’s level counselors.
All sessions are recorded for training purposes so that counselors-in-training may receive feedback. The highest privacy standards are followed through HIPPA.
