PRIMED℠ Institute in Character Education

The PRIMED Institute℠ in Character Education is a five day immersion experience in charactereducation. It is designed for character education leadership teams from schools to spend a week together learning about character education in general and as it applies specifically to their schools.
The Institute has three primary goals:

Learning about the fundamentals of effective character education

Action planning for the upcoming school year

The PRIMED℠ Institute is designed as a one week immersion in character education for teams from schools (however, we invariably have a few solos).

Facilitators are Dr. Marvin W Berkowitz and Dr. Amy Johnston.

It is highly interactive. We only accept 30 participants so this can remain a productive, enjoyable, and interactive learning experience.

PROGRAM HISTORY

In 2001, Marvin Berkowitz developed the Summer Institute in Character Education which took place in St. Louis almost annually through 2019.

In 2012, Dr. Berkowitz brought the Summer Institute to Taiwan where it had been conducted annually through 2019 through a partnership with and support from the HTC Educational Foundation.

In 2019, the Summer Institute was renamed the PRIMED Institute℠ in Character Education. Also in 2019, the PRIMED℠ Institute was conducted in Bogota, Colombia, in conjunction with the Co-School Institute.
