Dr. Agata Freedle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Sciences and Professional Programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from University of Missouri-St. Louis, and M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University, and B.S. in Psychology from University of Stirling. Dr. Freedle is a board certified, Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri with certificate in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C).
Her current research focuses on exploring the psychological impact of reproductive trauma and perinatal mental health concerns on families as well as counselors' competency in supporting such families. Dr. Freedle is interested in in developing evidence-based practices to support families with challenging reproductive narratives and to reduce disparities in care.
At UMSL, Dr. Freedle teaches courses in the Counseling program including Helping Relationship Skills, Introduction to Systems Theory for Couples and Family Counseling, Marriage Counseling and Enrichment, and Family Counseling.
