Dr. Boleska is a distinguished faculty member at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Education, bringing a wealth of expertise in the realm of Sport Management. As the first faculty member to join the Sport Management program in 2020, Dr. Boleska has since achieved remarkable success both within and outside the classroom. Most recently, she was the recipient of the 2023 Chancellor's Award for Sustained Excellence in Online Teaching.
Since assuming the role of Director of Sport Management and Assistant Teaching Professor at UMSL, Dr. Boleska has cultivated a reputation for fostering a dynamic learning environment. Their commitment to practical experience is exemplified by their emphasis on service learning, volunteering, and internships. Dr. Boleska has designed and instructed various undergraduate courses, including "Introduction to Sport Management and Administration," "Legal Issues in Sports," "Ethical Issues in Sports," "Sports Media and Technology," with a forward thinking approach to sport management education.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Boleska has garnered recognition for their impact on students' professional development. Notably, they guided a students to achieve an impressive ranking nationally in the 2023 National Collegiate Sports Sales Competition. The 2022 competitions were equally impactful, with students excelling in various categories, such as speed selling, sales competitions, and overall rankings. The experiences at major events like the NCAA Men's Basketball Final 4, the Super Bowl, USA Cycling, and the NFL Draft have played a pivotal role in shaping Dr. Boleska's teaching approach.
Dr. Boleska's commitment extends beyond academics to partnership and community engagement. Dr. Boleska was proudly involved in an innovative partnership between the University of Missouri-St. Louis and STL CITY SC. This groundbreaking academic partnership signifies a forward-thinking approach to sports management education, bridging the gap between academia and industry. The collaboration between UMSL and STL CITY SC highlights Dr. Boleska's commitment to providing students with unparalleled opportunities for hands-on learning and industry exposure, solidifying their position as a trailblazer in the field of sport management.
In addition to their role at UMSL, Dr. Boleska also took on a Visiting Teaching Professor position at the University of Limoges in France, where they conducted the course "American Professional Sports."
As a Faculty Advisor for the Sport Management Club, a committee member for dissertation qualifying exams, and an active member of several dissertation committees, she continues to contribute significantly to the university's academic community.
