The UMSL College of Education has been a University Partner with Teach For America since 2006. Teach For America has a mission - to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort.

TFA recruits outstanding recent college graduates from all backgrounds and career interests to commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools. TFA corps members are placed in the Kansas City area each year. As the University Partner, UMSL provides corps members with the necessary coursework to earn teacher certification in two years. Most corps members complete additional coursework and earn a Master's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education.
