The Office of Clinical Experience is just one of the many departments throughout UMSL College of Education that helps to prepare students for a successful, meaningful and rewarding career in the field of formal and informal education. Together with our studio school and community agency partners, we provide a quality clinical experience that reaches far beyond the academic curriculum.

The College of Education's comprehensive and rigorous curriculum prepares teacher candidates to be highly successful educators. This process includes intensive coursework from qualified faculty, continuous support from Clinical Educators, and a year-long practicum experience in a school or agency partner.

Teacher certification practicum incorporates the principles of cognitive science, Learning by Scientific Design model as well as informative on-campus seminars -- all designed to ensure that each teacher candidate is fully prepared for certification and has a promising future as an effective educator.

Bachelor of Educational Studies candidates have internships with our partner agencies such as the St. Louis Zoo, The Gateway Arch, Beyond Housing to name a few. Or, bring us an idea and we’ll help you find an internship.
