Scott D. Peterson teaches courses in everything from expository writing to Sport Media. His research interests include sport literature, sport journalism, and sport history. In the classroom, he encourages his students to explore how journalists have used fiction and non-fiction to write baseball into American Culture since the late nineteenth century. His book, Reporting Baseball’s Sensational Season of 1890: The Brotherhood War and the Rise of Modern Sports Journalism, examines how three key journalists covered the game during an early labor dispute. He also serves as the fiction editor for Aethlon, the journal of the Sport Literature Association, and writes fiction of his own.
