Dr. Mayhan teaches English Literature I and II, Victorian Poetry and Prose, The Nineteenth Century British Novel, Later Romantic Poetry and Prose, Literary Types, Practical Criticism, and several graduate seminars in 19th Century British Literature. He spent the early part of his adult life as a copywriter and communications specialist before he returned to his primary interests in the study of literature. He has published in the Walt Whitman Quarterly Review, won prizes for his essays, and a fellowship award for his dissertation on the religious prose of Matthew Arnold.
