About
Jeanne Allison worked for 14 years in publishing before she joined the English Department in 2006 to run the Writing Certificate Program. During her career in publishing, she was an acquisitions editor for Mosby-Year Book (now Elsevier) and EMC Paradigm. In that position, she wrote book proposals, editorial, and development plans, and worked directly with authors to develop their books. She also worked as a development editor for Mosby and as a freelance editorial consultant. She teaches courses in poetry writing, business writing, professional writing and publishing. She's published several poems in literary journals, and has the honor of having a haiku in the Haiku Path in the Holmes County Open Air Art Museum.
As coordinator of the Writing Certificate Program, Jeanne is giving further shape and substance to the award-winning program. She teaches Junior-Level Writing, Business Writing, Editing, Public Relations, and Proposal Writing, and she directs Writing Internships.
