Kim (Wein) Gorman, BA 1992, is President and Chief Scientific Officer of Paternity Testing Corporation in Columbia, MO. As an undergraduate she performed research in the laboratory of Professor Wes Harris in the area of biological inorganic chemistry and this led to a position in the Washington University School of Medicine. She worked for three years on the Human Genome Project (an international effort to map the location of DNA throughout human chromosomes) at Washington University and, then spent three years as a DNA Criminalist with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Crime Laboratory. In 1996 she established Paternity Testing Corporation. Kim has been the laboratory supervisor for Paternity Testing Corporation since then and oversees all aspects of paternity and forensic testing performed by her company.
