June 24, 2024 - Launch of UMSL Athletic Director Executive Search

Dear UMSL Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a nationwide search for the next Director of Athletics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis in partnership with Double L Consulting, and are grateful to the following individuals who have agreed to serve on the UMSL Athletic Director Search Committee:

The athletic director, a key member of the Chancellor’s leadership team, will oversee our comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program, which includes 19 sports and over 290 student-athletes. This role will provide visionary leadership, strategic planning, and policy development, ensuring the program's alignment with the university's mission and strategic priorities.

The athletic director will also be instrumental in creating a vibrant experience for our campus community, fostering excitement and engagement around our exceptional sports programs and student-athletes. Additionally, they will engage with external constituents to enhance athletic revenue generation, alumni engagement, donor support, and sponsorship.

As we embark on this search, it is important to recognize and appreciate the service of our current athletic director, Lori Flanagan. We are grateful for her dedication, and she has kindly agreed to continue in her role until the conclusion of this significant executive search.

Information on this search is now available on the Executive Search website. Our goal is to have the new Athletic Director on board by the beginning of the fall semester or soon after. Current AD Lori Flanagan has agreed to stay in position until the new AD is hired.
