March 31, 2020 - All UMSL summer classes to move online

Dear University Community,

As we look to the future and continue to do our part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, UMSL will move all summer courses to online instruction for each of our 4-, 8- and 12-week sessions.

By making this decision now, we want to provide enough time for both our students and our faculty to plan and prepare. To support our students and their families during this time, we are waiving all online course fees – currently $62.30 per credit hour – for the summer term. Additionally, the Summer Triton Scholarship application will be available beginning tomorrow to provide financial assistance for students to continue their studies over the summer.

Our summer offerings will include a robust course catalog of high-quality online courses, developed by Center for Teaching and Learning online instructional designers and taught by experienced online educators. We’re also investing in additional technologies to support lab, clinical and field experiences.

For those who have already registered for in-person summer courses, the Office of the Registrar will communicate with you soon to transition your courses. You can also reach out to them for more information at registration@umsl.edu.

I am proud of the many ways our community continues to support and care for each other during this difficult time. Thank you for all you are doing to ensure the well-being of our families, neighbors and friends, and for your commitment to keep teaching and keep learning.

Be safe,

Kristin Sobolik
Interim Chancellor and Provost
