February 18, 2020 - Honorary Degree Nominations
Dear Colleagues,
The University of Missouri–St. Louis is seeking nominations for the honorary doctorate degree, the highest form of recognition offered by the University of Missouri to persons of exceptional distinction. Last year, the Board of Curators approved updates to the Collected Rules and Regulations that address the honorary doctorate process. I encourage you to review CRR 220.030 Honorary Degrees which outlines the purpose of the degree as well as the criteria and procedures for the selection of degree recipients.
To submit a nomination for an honorary degree from UMSL, please visit our Honorary Degree website to download the nomination form. All nominations are due to the Office of Executive Events no later than April 20, 2020. Nominations will be reviewed by a Campus Faculty Committee appointed by the chancellor as well as the UMSL Faculty Senate, before recommendations are submitted to the chancellor. Final recommendations will be submitted to the UM System Honors Committee in December.
