No-show policy for on-campus interviews and employer-facilitated programs (includes interviews, information sessions, workshops and mock interviews)
On-campus interviewing and employer-facilitated programming is taken very seriously by the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Career Services. Signing up for an on-campus interview or an employer-facilitated program (including information sessions, workshops and mock interviews) is a commitment that is expected to be upheld.
Due to the professional nature of on-campus interviews and employer-facilitated programs, the following policy will be enforced when a candidate cancels an interview after the schedule has been frozen, or fails to show up for a previously scheduled interview:
First Occurrence:
An email of apology/explanation must be written to the organization’s recruiter (name and email provided by Career Services) within 48 business hours of the scheduled interview. The email should include a copy to Teresa Balestreri, Director of Career Services (tkb@umsl.edu).
Second Occurrence:
An email of apology/explanation must be written to the organization’s recruiter (name and email provided by Career Services) within 48 business hours of the scheduled interview. The email should include a copy to Teresa Balestreri, Director of Career Services (tkb@umsl.edu).
Because Career Services at the University of Missouri-St. Louis can neither research nor endorse Third Party Recruiting Agencies, the following guidelines have been established for the protection of the students, alumni and UMSL:
When establishing your organization in Handshake, you must indicate “Staffing & Recruiting” as the organization’s industry. (Only St. Louis area agencies or those with St. Louis area opportunities will be approved).
No fees may be charged to applicants at any time.
Information about the hiring employer must be disclosed to applicants prior to an interview.
Student information cannot be disclosed to your employer/client for other than the original recruiting purpose nor can it be sold or provided to other entities.
Solicitation of services to other businesses while on campus grounds is prohibited.
Job postings must be actual and current openings for internships, cooperative education positions, and/or traditional W-2 or 1099 full- or part-time employees. Full policies
