Be Active. Be Well.

Our highest priority at the RWC is the safety and well-being of our members and our UMSL community. To this end, we have put many measures in place to ensure everyone remains safe. The RWC is undergoing intense cleaning and sanitizing before we reopen. In addition, we have a plan in place to ensure a high-level of cleanliness during open hours and will shut down for an hour in the middle of the day to do additional cleaning.

We have obtained Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all staff, including disposable gloves and masks, and we have added more touch-free hand sanitizing stations and gym wipes in areas around the RWC.

All staff members are being trained on proper cleaning measures along with posting resources for everyone in the RWC. We encourage members to use gym wipes and hand sanitizing stations frequentlyWe have stocked our facility with plenty of cleaning equipment to ensure a clean and safe facility. This cleaning equipment is EPA-approved as COVID-19 disinfecting products.

We have inspected all equipment for functionality to ensure maximum efficiency upon reopen. The facility will look different, due to a new floor plan for equipment usage to assist with physical distancing.  Signage will be posted for offline equipment, equipment will be rotated frequently, and select equipment will be moved to other areas of the facility.  Dates on when these areas will open again, and when services will resume, will be announced as we continue to gather information.

We are relying on both our member community and staff to continue to help one another by sanitizing regularly and following all physical and social distancing guidelines.  It is everyone’s duty as the RWC community to help one another by maintaining a safe distance from otherskeeping the RWC clean and sanitized, and not coming in if you feel ill.  We will have resources available in the building and on our website to assist both staff and members on proper sanitizing techniques.

If you have any questions or comments about the cleaning and sanitation, we encourage you to fill out this survey to let us know: Member reopening survey.
