Leo Pugachev is an Assistant Professor of Finance at UMSL and proud St. Louisan. He did his undergraduate studies at SLU (2011) and his doctoral studies at the University of Oklahoma (2019). Between degrees, Leo worked as an FDIC bank examiner in New England. Before starting at UMSL, he taught at University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and Rochester Institute of Technology. He is an active researcher, having published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, and Journal of Banking and Finance. His work focuses on banking, regulation, and corporate governance. Outside of work, Leo is a proud father of two and husband of one. He enjoys seeing and playing live music, playing chess, and cheering on the St. Louis Blues. He travels any chance he can and has visited over 45 countries.
