Carla holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning and a master's degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL).
In addition to her academic pursuits, Carla's journey is especially relevant to transfer students. It began at St. Louis Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree. She later transferred to Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), culminating in a B.S. degree in Home Economics and an eye-opening study abroad experience in London, England.
Carla's passion for education guided her through various academic pursuits, ultimately leading her to pursue a Ph.D. Her experiences and insights are invaluable for students on their academic journeys.
Outside of her academic endeavors, Carla treasures family time, explores diverse cultures and indulges her love for creativity through painting on canvas and engaging in various crafts. She is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all students with a particular understanding of the unique challenges first-generation and transfer students may encounter.
