Mission

The Laboratory for Advanced Supply Chain Analytics (LASCA) in the Supply Chain & Analytics (SC&A) Department, College of Business Administration (COBA), exists to conduct cutting-edge applied and impactful research to advance the knowledge and practice of data-driven decision-support for supply chain management.

It achieves this mission by:

  • Engaging the SC&A faculty and the doctoral students in COBA’s PhD and DBA programs
  • Conducting applied studies grounded in the foundational/basic research of Advanced Analytics and the broad domain of Supply Chain
  • Collaborating with both academic and industry partners at the regional, national and international levels
  • Promoting and engaging in interdisciplinary research in manufacturing, food/agriculture, life science/healthcare, mining, construction, and civil/industrial engineering, among others

LASCA supports the SC&A Department’s vision of being the Supply Chain Analytics Center of Excellence in the University of Missouri System and beyond. It provides a platform to cultivate and strengthen the Department’s long-existing excellence in data analytics and quantitative methods (also known as Operations Research and Management Science). It complements and collaborates with the Department’s existing Supply Chain Risk and Resilience Research Institute (SCR3), which has a focus in the area of supply chain risk management.
