The Master of Business Administration (Flex MBA) program offered by the College of Business Administration provides students an opportunity to add the Information Systems and Technology emphasis as part of their MBA program requirements.
IST courses are designed to provide the technical and managerial knowledge to work successfully in design, development, and leadership roles related to information technology (IT). Students have opportunities to gain skills in application development, business intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, fintech, and other emerging areas that impact organizational IT strategies.
Customize your emphasis by choosing courses or complete courses to also get Graduate Certificate in any IST area.
MBA students can work with their academic advisors to choose IST courses that fit their career goals or choose to complete any of the 12 credit-hour Graduate Certificates from the IST Department to also obtain a certificate credential in addition to the MBA.
Flexible class schedules (day and evening, weekends, 8 or 16 week sessions) and course delivery formats (face-to-face, blended, and online) enable students to balance school, work, and life.
Applicants must meet the general graduate admission requirements of the Graduate School, described in the UMSL catalog as well as the MBA program requirements set forth by the College of Business Administration Graduate Programs Office.
There are no additional requirements from the Information Systems and Technology department.
The Information Systems and Technology Emphasis in the Flex MBA program requires a total of 12 credit hours. All students will complete 12 credit hours of IST Courses beyond INFSYS 5800 (this course is a required core course in the MBA program).
